{about the shoes}
Mohop sandals are environmentally friendly, comfortable, and best of all, allow nearly infinite design options with just one pair of wooden soles. Simply lace any ribbon through our patent-pending elastic loops to create your own one-of-a-kind, custom-fit pair! Mohop shoes are individually hand made by Annie Mohaupt and JoAnna Fleming in our studio in Chicago.
How to wear your shoes
Our innovative shoe has been dubbed the 'infinity sandal'. Essentially, the wearer can easily customize her shoes by changing the ribbons that tie the shoes on. Different lengths and styles of ribbons can be used to achieve a virtually infinite number of looks with just one pair of wooden soles. So anybody can play Imelda Marcos without requiring the budget and storage space for 5,000 shoes!
Are they comfortable?
You betcha! The curved shape of the footbed provides even support along the length of the foot, alleviating the typical fatigue points at the heel or ball of the foot. Our proprietary elastic loops allow the ribbon ties to move with the foot, eliminating the blisters and chafing associated with most new sandals.
Caring for your sandals
Your Mohops are meant to be worn frequently and eventually they may get dirty or scratched. The shoes feature a durable hand-rubbed finish - to clean, simply wipe them with cool water and a mild detergent. Rubbing a dab of olive oil on any scratches will make them virtually disappear. Most ribbons can be hand washed.

{about ordering}
Two Buck Domestic and International Shipping!
Yes, you heard that right - it's just $2 to mail your sandals worldwide! You are responsible for taxes, handling fees and import duties as determined by the destination country. Please check with your local post office for further information.
Shipping and handling
Mohop shoes are handcrafted in small batches. Therefore, we ask that you allow 3-4 weeks for shipment of your order. You will receive an e-mail once your order ships.
We ship with the United States Postal Service. Domestic packages are shipped via Priority Mail, with a 2-3 day typical delivery time.
International shipments are mailed via Express Mail International, with a typical delivery time of 6 days. However, please be aware that your package may be delayed by customs, government inspections and what-have-you; please allow additional time for delivery.
We have found that handling fees for international orders are substantially less with the postal system than with commercial carriers. If you have any questions with your order please e-mail us at shoes@mohop.com (please include your invoice number).
Repairs and returns
Unworn Mohop sandals can be returned for a full refund or exchange within 30 days of the arrival of your shipment. Any defects in workmanship will be repaired free-of-charge within one year of purchase (i.e., if something has broken or is threatening to break). If you wear the soling down to the wood, we cannot repair them for you, but congratulate you for walking so much! Please e-mail us at shoes@mohop.com if you have any questions about your shoes.

Annie Mohaupt
Annie grew up on a small sheep farm about 100 miles west of Chicago. Her greatest inspiration growing up was her mother, an original do-it-yourselfer who could do anything from weaving an award-winning cape from the wool of her sheep to changing out the muffler on her car.
Annie's degree is in architecture, and she worked in the field for close to 7 years. Annie started making sandals in 2005 as an experiment to see if she could indeed make sandals. It was more work than she expected.
If Annie didn't spend all her time making shoes and thinking about making shoes, she would enjoy: going to the movies; game nights; tea time; fat novels; slow jogs with Kiddo the Dog; and vegan cupcakes.
Siamak Mostoufi
Siamak was born in Ahwaz, Iran and moved to Illinois with his American mother and Iranian father in 1979. Siamak grew up in a small town outside of Springfield where he enjoyed taking things apart, drawing and cycling.
Siamak has a couple degrees in architecture. In addition to working full time at DMAC Architecture, renovating their old house and taking his architectural licensing exams, Siamak works on mohop.com, does all of the admin work for the shoe business, and helps carry heavy stuff.
JoAnna Fleming
JoAnna joined Mohop in May of 2007. Originally from Florida, JoAnna studied shoemaking and has a couple of degrees in fashion. She does not care for Chicago winters.
JoAnna is our JoAnna of all trades. Besides being an all-around skilled craftslady and woodmistress, she organizes, draws, models, bops to the music, and opens the windows in January even though she really does not care for Chicago winters.
Special thanks
Annie and Siamak would like to thank their parents Mary and Richard Mohaupt, and Maryam and Siavash Mostoufi for their support. Thank you to TS Harrington and Adam Lara for gorgeous photography (they took the nice photos; the bad ones are by Annie) and thanks to our beautiful models Rebekah Lara, Kaitlyn Clevenstine, Alyson Eagle, Kaylee Bruffett, Marissa Piehl and Abbey Piehl.
